Math Tutoring on The Unit Circle
In trigonometry, the Unit Circle is a circle of radius one and centered at the origin (0, 0) of a Cartesian Coordinate system.
If (a, b) is a point on the unit circle, then by the Pythagorean Theorem ‘a’ and ‘b’ satisfy the equation .
If the ray from the origin (0, 0) to the point (a, b) makes an angle α from the positive X-axis, then the trigonometric functions Cosine and Sine of the angle α is defined as Cosα=a and Sinα=b. So tanα=a/b.
Thus we get the relation .
So with the help of Unit Circle in math tutoring, we can determine all the trigonometric functions of any angles of 30° and 45° and in terms of radians.
We can determine the coordinate of a particular point using the concept of Unit Circle.
