2.    Create Equivalent Fractions with the common denominator.

3.    Add the numerator, keeping the same denominator.

4.    Simplify, if possible.

Subtraction of Fractions:

To subtract fractions with like denominators:

1.    Keep the denominator the same and subtract the numerators.

2.    Simplify, if possible.

To subtract fractions with unlike denominators:
